Parent Support Groups
When you have a child with severe behavioral challenges it can be frustrating and confusing trying to get services and support. Parents still often come across social stigmas about mental illness and they can be judged as ‘bad’ parents. We aren’t born knowing how to raise children with special needs. Through our support groups parents come to realize that they are not alone. There are other parents having the same difficulties.
Our support groups offer parents emotional support, exchange of information and ideas, and peer counseling. We also offer speakers, respite during scheduled groups and transportation if needed.
